Best Apps

~*~ The EC PC Best App List ~*~

From brief to in-depth reviews, I've found these apps to be most noteworthy and that have made a huge difference in my daily life by improving my activities and helping me do what I love more easily, quickly, and better. I will also list pros, cons and star ratings.

My 1st App:

Journal  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1/2

My Review:

  • A very basic, bare-bones type of word processor
  • Password protected; back all the way out of the app so it closes and is protected when you're not using it
  • Pretty purple-violet gradient interface, with white bg for the text / writing portion
  • No fancy toolbars or even basic font type and color settings; just 3 items at the top right hand corner:

"Cancel," "Save," and a little recycle bin icon.

  • When you're in an open journal entry, you can highlight a word and double tap the screen and an option toolbar appears on top of the purple one:

Left Corner: "Done"   Right Corner: "Select All," "Cut," "Copy," "Paste."

Three words to the wise when using:

1-Alway hit "Save" after typing. Clicking or touching the screen anywhere else, especially on the pretty purple part, results in non-saviour. And ad infinitum your re-typing efforts.

2-After hitting "Save" you may be redirected to the top of your entries dating back to page 1 day 1. This I have not found a way around yet. So scrolling back to present journal entry is always a must.

3-When you minimize it in the tablet so that it is paused in the bg, be careful bc anyone can get into it without having to enter the passcode. Always make sure to exit Journal fully before walking away from your tablet.

An important note:
When you are in the journal interface, with no particular journal entry selected, you will not be able to read the full-length entries of what you wrote unless you tap on the entry and the entry will open into edit mode. Then you will be able to scroll down and read the full entry.

In other words, when no entry is selected, the view is truncated.

Tap the entry itself to read the full entry.

What impressed me:
You can literally copy + paste any of your writing to your blog or website, AND vice-versa!

What did not impress me:
I can deal with #1 and #3 above, but #2, I would have to say did not impress me. At least let me stay on my current journal entry after I save it. That would be ideal for me.

All in all, 4 1/2 stars, only because I love it so much, even with those little quirks that I mentioned.

If you need a bare-bones, just-type-my-journal-entries-in-basic-format kind of app, this one's for you. And being that it is free, is also very nice!
